Integrated Diploma in Nutritional Therapy and Psychological Coaching
Thinking about a career change into nutrition?
You are good at what you do, but your heart is not into it anymore.
You have built a career, you know how to perform, how to deliver and you have led groups.
You now want more. You want meaning and purpose from your work. You want work that draws on your passion for nutrition and how people change and grow, just like you are doing!
We have the course for you.
You’re not alone in this. And you’re never too old!
If you are exploring a nutrition course with a difference, that integrates psychological coaching, then you have come to the right place
The New School of Nutrition offers a 2-year part-time Diploma in Nutrition Medicine and Psychological Coaching, three qualifications, two years, one weekend a month, and one integrated education.
Nutrition Medicine is not about becoming the food police, or macros and gym bros. At the New School, it is about understanding how life, biology, behaviour, environment, and purpose shape health and wellbeing. It is about knowing when nutrients matter, when sleep matters, when a relationship matters, when boundaries matter, and when the answer is ‘I don’t know, shall we explore this together?’
This course is for you if you:
- want to practise, not just learn
- want to understand the science, not just be taught facts
- want to apply what you learn as you learn
- are curious about the connection between nutrition, human behaviour, stress, emotions, and physiology
- are drawn to a more integrated, whole-person approach to health
- want an education that is immersive, practical, rigorous, and deeply human
- are tired of endless online courses and want real interaction, discussion, and community
- value growth, not just professionally, but personally too
- want to become the kind of practitioner who can hold complexity with both intelligence and compassion
You will study:
- Human physiology and biochemistry taught through real cases, not rote memorisation
- Functional testing and clinical reasoning, how to interpret results through context and systems biology thinking
- Psychological coaching which encompasses a variety of subjects, from the mind-body connection, Window of Tolerance, emotions, burnout, drama triangle, behaviour, neuropathic pain, conflict, boundaries, nervous system regulation, and what drives change that lasts
- Modern, 21st-century topics include, gut-brain axis, hormones, mitochondrial health, neuroplasticity, toxicity (emotionally and physically), cognitive behavioural coaching, auto-immune conditions and more.
- You will learn in person in London, or live online if you are overseas, alongside others who, like you, are choosing to do meaningful work they feel passionate about.
This Diploma offers an immersive, real-world learning experience
The New School curriculum is not a set of downloadable modules you complete in your own time and forget. The learning here is live, conversational, and layered. You will discuss, question, share and apply.
The curriculum follows a spiral approach, where knowledge builds, weekend after weekend, moving from theory to practice and to deeper understanding as the course progresses.
Our tutors are all qualified nutritional therapists and/or psychological coaches who are actively practising in their fields. They bring real‑world experience into the classroom, sharing insights from clinic, client work, and their own continued learning. Each tutor is passionate about evidence‑based practice and the human side of change, creating a dynamic environment where theory meets lived experience. At the New School of Nutrition, you learn from people who don’t just teach the work, they live it.
You will also graduate into a community. The postgraduate alumni programme offers ongoing clinical support, group supervision, continued development, and a space where you remain part of something beyond your final graduation coursework.
Two qualifications. Two years. One career worth having.
Our two-year Diploma is approved and recognised by:
European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC)
Federation of Nutritional Therapy Practitioners (FNTP)
Complementary Medical Association (CMA)
You graduate with a recognised, professional qualification, not just a certificate. You qualify as a Nutritional Therapist AND a Psychological Coach.
