Rapid Relief Homeopathy at The New School of Nutritional Medicine

We all love a bullet point summary

At the New School of Nutritional Medicine:

  • Rapid Relief Homeopathy (RRH) is our practical, modern way of using homeopathy for everyday acute situations and first-aid style support
  • We understand modern times require more than one healing modality
  • It is not old-fashioned dusty shelf homeopathy. It is practical, usable, using 21st century language and real-life support for modern households and practitioners
  • We have even published a modern-day book on this very topic HERE
  • It is about matching the remedy to the symptom picture, not randomly grabbing a remedy because your best friend swore by it for her headache
  • When Rapid Relief Homeopathy is used well, it can reduce reliance on medications that may carry downstream effects for the gut, When you hear the word microbiome, you probably think of the gut. Fair enough, it gets most of the attention. But what if we told you that microbes are not just hanging out 'down under'? They are everywhere. There is the oral microbiome living in your mouth, the skin microbiome covering every inch of your body, the urogenital microbiome, the lung microbiome, and, of course, the celebrity of the microbial world, the gut microbiome. These tiny organisms are not unwanted guests infact, truth be known, we are their guests. They are part of you, which helps keep you alive.Referenced in 31 articlesClick to read more →, liver, lymphatic system etc.
  • Acute symptoms can also be clues. These symptoms can provide useful information about a deeper imbalance
  • Students learn RRH through group work on real cases, and use RRH in their own lives too
  • We also teach wider tools such as Cell salts, also known as tissue salts or biochemical salts, were developed by the German physician Dr Wilhelm Schüßler in the 19th century. They are prepared from naturally occurring mineral compounds and are used in highly diluted doses to support the body's ability to utilise and regulate minerals. The twelve original cell salts include familiar minerals such as calcium, magnesium, potassium, sodium, iron, and silica, each traditionally associated with different tissues and functions within the body.Referenced in 24 articlesClick to read more →, tautopathy, and sarcodes integrated into the nutrition medicine modules
  • RRH blends in with our other two key modalities,  nutrition medicine and psychological coaching
  • The integration of RRH into a 2-year diploma in Nutrition Medicine and Psychological Coaching is unique to our school

Why would a nutrition school teach homoeopathy?

It is a fair question, surely, nutrition should stay in one box and homoeopathy somewhere else entirely? We do not believe human beings work like that, and neither does healing. At The New School of Nutritional Medicine, we teach from the reality that we are physical, emotional, spiritual and energetic beings. Dis-eases rarely belong in one category. Therefore, our curriculum reflects this and integrates three powerful modalities:

21st-century dis-eases require more than one healing modality.

What Is Rapid Relief Homeopathy?

Rapid Relief Homeopathy is our practical, modern approach to using homeopathy in everyday situations. These everyday situations include accidents and emergencies, and symptoms such as coughs, flus, colds, headaches, A migraine is a neurological condition characterised by recurrent attacks of moderate-to-severe headache, often accompanied by symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, sensitivity to light, sound, and smells, as well as visual disturbances known as aura. Whilst many people think of migraines as simply a bad headache, they are actually considered a disorder of the nervous system. There are several different types of migraine, including migraine with aura, migraine without aura, vestibular migraine (where dizziness and balance problems dominate), ocular migraine, menstrual migraine, and chronic migraine.Referenced in 13 articlesClick to read more →, food poisoning, tonsillitis, ear infections, urinary tract infections, post-birth recovery pain and so forth.

When you see a nutritional therapist with a chronic condition, for example for Hashimoto’s, once you start your personalised programme, you may start to experience acute symptoms, some may actually be old symptoms returning, such as hives that you may have gotten in your 20s at University for which you took antihistamines, or bursitis that you experienced after starting a new job. Whether they are old symptoms returning, which in naturopathic nutrition is called ‘tracing your timeline’, or new acute symptoms, such as a headache this is the innate wisdom of your body is saying ‘hello, I need a little help here. But can you hear me out, than suppress me and/or ignore me? Can you?’

These symptoms occur for a reason; they are not mere coincidences.

Acute symptoms

An acute symptom or acute condition is something that has a clear beginning, follows a course, and usually comes to an end. It has a natural life cycle. In simple terms, it arrives, does what it needs to do, and then resolves. For example:

  • A flu is not meant to last forever, thank goodness.
  • A chest infection has a course.
  • A sinus infection usually has a beginning, middle, and end.
  • Food poisoning, a fever, an earache, or a stomach bug are often acute events.

They are unpleasant, but they are typically time-limited.

A chronic condition is different. Chronic conditions are long-standing patterns that may persist for months or years, sometimes with flare-ups and remissions. Such as arthritis, Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, ulcerative colitis, chronic migraines, long-term eczema, ongoing fatigue syndromes etc. These do not usually have a neat ‘sell-by date’.

They require a wider lens, they require professional support. And it is usually chronic conditions that nutritional therapists see in their practices. Acute symptoms and conditions can be viewed as signposts. They may show us which system is currently under strain and, at times, whether an old symptom pattern is returning. In some cases, a past symptom may seem to reappear as if it is asking to be understood rather than suppressed/shut down.

For example, a boil may return that you experienced earlier in life, that was previously treated with antibiotics. Rather than seeing this only as an isolated inconvenience, at the New School we ask a broader question ‘why this symptom, and why now?’

When acute symptoms are supported thoughtfully, such as through Rapid Relief Homeopathy, rather than automatically being suppressed, the wider picture begins to shift. Some people notice that as the acute issue resolves, longer-standing symptoms also start to ease. For example, those thyroid-related symptoms lessen after the boil has run its course and been supported with Rapid Relief Homeopathy.

This is why we teach students to look beyond the surface symptom and understand the body as an interconnected dynamic system.

Suppression of acute symptoms

Rather than taking a course of antibiotics and impacting the microbiome as well as ignoring the ‘purpose’ of the acute symptoms, we teach our students to use Rapid Relief Homeopathy in such situations, to help the body continue with it’s healing.

Rapid Relief Homeopathy module teaches students:

  • Why symptoms appear the way they do
  • How to recognise remedy patterns
  • How to choose remedies based on the person, not the label
  • How to support acute situations with homeopathy
  • When to act, when to wait, and when to seek medical help
  • When an acute symptom may be pointing to a deeper imbalance worth exploring

Sometimes an acute symptom may also reveal an emotional layer beneath the physical picture, grief expressed as a migraine, stress showing up as nightmares, or overwhelm surfacing as muscle cramps. We teach students to recognise that acute symptoms are not always coincidences but meaningful communications that deserve to be understood with skill, compassion, and clinical wisdom.

Homeopathic remedies

We do not teach a list of homeopathic remedies, we teach the remedies integrated into the topics covered. Such as, Rapid Relief Homeopathic remedies for digestive issues, such as bloating, when teaching the digestive system and the comprehensive stool analysis.

In psychological coaching, students learn the skills of active listening, using all there senses, and these skills come into play in deciphering a remedy for an acute situation.

  • What makes it better or worse?
  • Is the person hot or cold?
  • Still or restless?
  • Thirsty or not thirsty?
  • Sensitive to light, noise, touch?
  • Fearful, clingy, angry, dramatic, shut down, overwhelmed?
  • What was happening before it began?
  • Is this a one-off event or a repeating pattern?

Symptoms are not random inconveniences, as the body is always communicating. For example:

  • A skin flare may speak through the barrier-immune system
  • A migraine may reflect nervous system overload
  • Digestive symptoms may highlight low stomach acid or stress physiology
  • Fatigue may point toward circadian disruption
  • Repeated colds may reflect depletion, stress load, or poor recovery capacity

This also does not mean every symptom is ‘good’ or should be ignored.

Example of a migraine

Imagine a person with a migraine, in a hyper-aroused state. Their physiology feels as though the shutters have been blown off. They are burning hot, the head may be throbbing, the senses are painfully heightened, light is too bright
noise is too loud, touch is too much, emotions are intensified etc.

This is a picture pattern of a migraine displayed in typical belladonna style. So, this person experiencing this type of migraine would be recommended belladonna. However, in our teaching, we do not only teach to prescribe belladonna in such an acute situation but also as these migraines may be returning, to dive deeper and look at…

  • what is keeping this nervous system in overdrive?
  • is there chronic stress?
  • A nutrient deficiency?
  • histamine intolerance?
  • blood sugar dysregulation?
  • hormonal shifts?
  • poor sleep?
  • emotional overload?

This is why our Rapid Relief Homeopathy module includes psychological coaching and a systems-biology approach.

Integrating Rapid Relief Homeopathy is:

  • Not about ‘popping remedies’ for repeated acute symptoms but about understanding why this keeps happening.
  • about avoiding suppression of symptoms, that are there to re-address homeostasis
  • preventing further disruption to healing
  • Symptoms often contain useful messages

More than nutrition

One modality is not enough for many modern cases. At the New School, a first session may focus on psychological coaching, a second may centre around functional testing and physiology, a further follow-up may involve an acute symptom that appeared between sessions and revealed the next layer needing support.

This is 21st-century nutritional medicine. There are no rigid protocols, no one-size-fits-all plans and no forcing every person through the same lens.

We teach students to recognise patterns, understand the cross-talk between the systems, choose the right tool at the right time, respect the healing process and to meet the human in front of them, not just the diagnosis on paper. These are 21st-century clinical skills.

Sarcodes in nutrition medicine

Many people exploring our homeopathy module are intrigued by sarcodes. A sarcode is a homeopathic preparation made from healthy tissue, gland, secretion, or physiological material. In traditional use, sarcodes are used to support function, regulation, or remind a system of its healthy pattern.

Glandulars are supplements made from animal gland or organ tissues (commonly bovine or porcine) that are used with the intention of supporting the corresponding human organ or system. Examples include, thyroid glandular, adrenal glandulars, liver extracts etc.

Glandular supplements usually contain actual tissue extracts or nutritional compounds in material doses. They can have a stronger physiological push and, for some individuals, can feel ‘too much’ or overstimulating. At the New School, rather than avoiding glandulars, we teach students to use sarcodes instead and then move to glandulars if still needed.

Sarcodes are only used within a broader clinical picture rather than as stand-alone magic bullets. Sarcodes are used in a more informational or regulatory way rather than as a direct material replacement.

In simple terms, glandulars may try to push function, whereas sarcodes may aim to support regulation.

We teach students to explore sarcodes when a person is sensitive, reactive, depleted, or does not tolerate stronger interventions well.

What is tautopathy?

Tautopathy is the use of a homeopathically prepared substances that have already affected the person, with the intention of helping the system respond more appropriately to that exposure. For example, a client may be unwell since having their breast implants, so once these implants are removed and if symptoms still persist, a remedy made from silicone can be given to the client.

Tautopathy is taught as part of a systems biology approach, not ‘take one tautopathic remedy and all is solved’.

Other areas that may be addressed such as:

  • Are detoxification pathways overwhelmed?
  • Is there inflammation?
  • What is their nutritional status?
  • Is the nervous system regulated?
  • Is there another explanation entirely?

Tautopathic preparations can be made from:

  • Medications
  • Vaccines
  • Toxic metals
  • Mould
  • Chemicals such as BPA (Bisphenol A)
  • Environmental exposures
  • Dental materials
  • Other substances the person has reacted to or been burdened by

Tautopathy can play a key role in any detox programme. Modern life exposes people to many things previous generations did not navigate in the same way:

  • Repeated medication use
  • Environmental chemicals
  • Chronic toxic load
  • Complex treatment histories
  • Sensitive nervous systems
  • Layered symptom pictures after interventions or exposures

At The New School, we teach students to think critically and responsibly about these cases. Our students learn to respect each individual’s healing process, which means not every symptom after an exposure needs tautopathy, not every person requires it and not every case is as simple as ‘remove the toxin’. In selected cases, tautopathy may form part of a thoughtful wider healing strategy.

Tautopathy is usually one piece of a broader, individualised plan rather than a standalone.

The Rapid Relief Homeopathy Book

We also teach through our book: Rapid Relief Homeopathy: Everyday, Anyday, The Rapid Way. (Link to book) This book was birthed from people asking Khush time and again for a more practical and 21st century relevant book on using homeopathy for acute conditions.

It is packed with stories, practical examples, and real-life scenarios, with QR codes linking to extra teaching videos.

So whether you are joining us, or want to support your family, deepen your practitioner toolkit, or stop feeling baffled by symptom patterns, this book is a way in.

Cell Salts

Cell salts are low-potency mineral remedies traditionally used to support the body’s functional balance. They were developed by Wilhelm Heinrich Schüßler, who proposed that disturbances in key mineral salts within cells could contribute to symptoms.

The aim was not simply to ‘fight disease’, but to support the body’s natural ability to regulate and restore balance.

At The New School, cell salts (also called tissue salts or biochemic salts) fit beautifully into our broader teaching, as they sit at the intersection of minerals, physiology, and energetic support. And this is very much our language.

Dr Khush Mark has integrated cell salts throughout the full two-year Diploma curriculum. They are presented in an integrative way, so students can also begin applying and understanding them from the very first teaching weekend.

The cell salts are woven into relevant pathologies, biochemical pathways, mineral dynamics, and deficiency patterns, allowing students to understand when and why they may fit, and how they relate to the wider physiology of the person in front of them.

At The New School, students learn that minerals are major players in physiology. They are essential to:

  • Energy production
  • Nervous system signalling
  • Muscle function
  • Hormone communication
  • Enzyme activity
  • Hydration balance
  • Immune response
  • Cellular repair

Beyond the 12 cell salts

Wilhelm Heinrich Schüßler developed the original twelve tissue salts in the late 19th century. His system was based on the mineral salts he believed were fundamental to cellular function and that could be identified in body tissues/ash analysis available at the time. He did not claim these were the only minerals in existence. Rather, they were the core salts he considered most clinically important within his model.

At that time, biochemistry was still developing, trace minerals were not understood in the way they are today, modern analytical methods did not exist and cellular physiology was far less advanced than now. So his system reflected the scientific knowledge and laboratory methods of that era.

At the school, we also go beyond the twelve traditional cell salts, expanding understanding of how mineral remedies can be applied within modern physiology, functional testing, and everyday clinical patterns.

During the two-year Diploma, students also study Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) as a functional assessment tool, and cell salts play a key role within this wider framework. They help bridge the understanding between mineral patterns, physiological function, and how imbalances may be expressed in the person as a whole.

Cell salts are popular because they are:

  • easy to begin with
  • practical for family life too
  • useful alongside broader wellness strategies
  • a bridge between minerals and homeopathy
  • gentle and approachable in everyday settings
  • fascinating once you understand their patterns

As the saying goes, minerals are the spark plugs of your biochemistry, so we use them in line with our best modern understanding of their roles, functions, and clinical relevance within nutritional medicine as cell salts as well as organic minerals.

If you would like to learn more or get started with confidence, we also offer a dedicated 12 Cell Salts Course designed to help you understand the traditional tissue salts in a practical, clear, and easy-to-apply way.
